Best coffee spots
We're not ashamed to admit it, we are a pair of coffee snobs. Australian coffee hits differently and in all the best ways. When I made a short trip home to Scotland last year, even my favourite spot in the west end of Glasgow just didn't cut it anymore, which left me wanting to rush back to Australia even more than I already did. Every Sunday morning we set off on a coffee date, it's been part of our normal routine for years now and quite frankly I love every minute of it. We genuinely live for exploring new coffee spots. Perth is full of amazing coffee spots and a year and a half in, we are still exploring - so this page will definitely be updated regularly.
Parkside, Northbridge
Parkside is hands down our favourite place to go and grab a coffee together on a Sunday morning. The coffee is amazing, the cups are super cute and the coffee window is set in a little park full of couples, families and most importantly dogs - our other favourite thing to do, dog watch.
Blacklist Coffee, Subiaco
Blacklist Coffee Roasters is an award winning roaster which originated from Bali. They have shops and roastery’s both in Perth and Bali. It's a cool, laid-back space that goes beyond your standard cafe offering, alongside all the firm favourites done really well, they offer a fun coffee tasting experience and a range of specialty drinks worth exploring. My husband loves their Monty drink special. If you take your coffee seriously, this one is not to be missed.
Slow Daze, West Leederville
Slow Daze is a firm favourite of ours, especially after stumbling out of Alchemy fresh from a sauna, just a couple of steps down the road. Their coffee is great and the care they put into their latte art never goes unnoticed. Be sure to try their food as well, it hits just as good as the coffee.
March, Perth City
Set within the Gordon Stephenson House building is March. A little but mighty coffee spot serving up great coffee with great service and some tasty baked treats you can’t say no to. They use Micrology beans here and it’s home to 3 of WA’s barista champions. My only disappointment is that it is only open Monday-Friday, so I love to go when I have a day off during the week!
Community Coffee Co, Subiaco
Nestled just beside Subiaco car park, Community Coffee Co is one of those gems that rewards you for seeking it out. This is their roastery home base and you can taste the care and craft that goes into every cup. The food is equally impressive and the perfect accompaniment to your morning or arvo coffee.
Howard’s Groove, Perth City
Howard’s Groove is another great coffee spot in the city open Monday to Friday serving up twin peaks coffee. They also have another city spot - Smooth Operator (automatically gets song stuck in head) and they set out to open another sport in Morley soon, which of course we will go and try out.
Humblebee, Mount Hawthorn
Humblebee roaster serves up a range of speciality blends and have begun putting on free monthly coffee tastings which I have informed my husband of and we are going to go along to the next announced one.
Micrology, Osborne Park
Micrology is a large coffee roasters who supply multiple coffee spots around Perth with their beans. They serve up really good coffee with a really good vibe and are taking Micrology to Bali very soon. They also host cool events, with their most recent upcoming one - Breakfast Pizza Club.
