Esperance
Three nights in Esperance turned out to be the perfect amount of time, it was enough to soak it all in without rushing. The town centre itself is small and quietly charming, but that's not why you come here. It's the beaches, the coastal walks, and that impossibly vivid turquoise water that will completely steal your breath away and leave you wondering how this place isn't on everyone's radar. An absolute natural paradise and one of the most beautiful corners of Western Australia we've ever experienced.
For coffee, we visited-
Downtown Espresso
Quite simply, the best coffee in Esperance and the locals clearly know it. This tiny, characterful little spot in the centre has built such a devoted following that you'll find people lined up outside waiting for the doors to open in the morning, and honestly, after one sip you'll completely understand why. It's the kind of unpretentious, quality-driven café that every small town deserves but few are lucky enough to have.
For food and drinks, we visited-
The Quarter
When you find a place that caters well for gluten free in a small town like Esperance, you hold onto it and that's exactly what we did, returning for dinner two nights in a row. The food was genuinely good and comfortably the best option in town for anyone with dietary requirements, which in itself makes it a standout. The one thing that did let the experience down, unfortunately, was the service and I don't say that lightly, as it's not something I enjoy commenting on. But in the spirit of an honest review, it's worth noting. Don't let it put you off visiting though, with food this good and options limited in Esperance, it's still absolutely worth a stop.
Lucky Bay Brewing
Lucky Bay Brewing is a great addition to Esperance, with regular hosting events and bringing a fun, lively energy to the town. The outdoor area is brilliant, especially if you have little ones who want to run around freely. They serve up a range of their own beers on tap and while the food sits comfortably in the pub grub territory, nothing too surprising but it does the job well alongside a cold drink in the sunshine.
Sir Juice
The perfect post beach stop. Grab an açai bowl or a fresh smoothie, find a spot overlooking the jetty and consider it the ideal way to wrap up a morning by the water in Esperance. Simple, fresh and exactly what you need.
