Best eats of 2026 so far
I honestly can't believe we're already halfway through the year! The past six months have been a whirlwind of trying new spots and revisiting our familiar favourites. So, without further ado, here's our roundup of the new best bites we've had the pleasure of enjoying so far in 2026 - from Perth's finest to a few gems found further afield.
Double Rainbow, Northbridge
Every single dish was on point in this Korean inspired restaurant. We visited in March and the food, vibe and service were all impeccable from start to finish. My husband was thrilled to find that almost everything on the menu was gluten free, such a rare and welcome win when eating out. The vegetarian options were right up my street too, especially the mushroom hashbrowns, which were an absolute standout. Honestly, I wish we'd ordered more than two, we'll definitely be going back to make up for it! The restaurant is dark, loud and full of energy - definitely a great spot for a group of friends.
Lulu Lala Delizia, Subiaco
A gorgeous, prestigious restaurant in Subiaco serving up homemade, delicious pasta - which, of course, was the highlight of the meal. But wow, their tiramisu genuinely stole the show too. I know this won't be my first or last visit here. They've also recently opened up a cantina next door, which I'm already looking forward to trying. However, I’m leaving my next visit towards the summer months to soak up on the afternoon sun in their courtyard as it looks like such an ideal summer spot for food and drinks.
Sotao, Albany
Perfect little spot in Albany. The food was absolutely incredible from start to finish, every single dish delivered on flavour. A lovely touch that didn't go unnoticed was their bread, sourced straight from Bread Co. It was great to see two brilliant local businesses supporting one another in that way. The kind of restaurant that elevates a town and makes you want to tell everyone about it. Their burrata with zucchini pickles was delicious.
Rojiura Curry SAMURAI, City
On a miserable, wet Sunday recently, my husband suggested we try a Japanese soup place and I honestly wasn't sure what to expect. But the flavours blew me away, they were so incredibly tasty. What makes it fun is that you build your own soup step by step: choosing your ingredients, broth, spice level and extras along the way. If you go, don't skip the fried garlic broccoli as a side, it's delicious! Everything on the menu is 100% gluten free too and we will most definitely be back.
Sycro Base, Ubud
We discovered Syrco Base after seeing it win Gold in the PRESTIGE Gourmet Awards 2026, so we couldn’t wait to experience it during our trip to Ubud. The whole experience was five stars, especially the food and service. Read more about our visit on the Ubud page.
Morries, Margaret River
Fantastic bar and restaurant right in the heart of Margaret River town. Definitely make a reservation, when we visited in February it was packed and walk-ins were being turned away. The food was really good, but it was their cocktail list that really impressed us, so make sure to work your way through it when you visit.
